Lynn Christine Ryall (née Donovan)

April 10, 1953 to December 29, 2025

Obituary

A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again – Mya Angelou.

Lynn passed away December 29th, 2025, at the L. A. Miller Centre, St. John’s at the age of 72 yrs.

Lynn was an outgoing, kind compassionate person who was the heart of the family. An avid outdoor enthusiast that was always up for a skidoo trip or going out on the pond ice fishing. Always up for a new adventure. Achieving her sea kayak certificate at the age of 63 yrs.

Lynn’s career at the post office as a letter carrier gave her much joy. She made many lifelong friends and learned the names and streets of Mt. Pearl. She could tell you where everyone lived or at least who their mother and father were. Upon retiring she continued to volunteer, ensuring the special letters to Santa were delivered to the North Pole.

Lynn loved her family and loved to gather with them every Saturday night to beat them in a heated game of Growl. Whether it was sitting around the table enjoying a fabulous Sunday dinner or sitting around the fire listening to her life lessons, Lynn was a joy to be around and never spoke ill of anyone.

She has left us to be with her husband James Ryall, parents William and Jean Donovan, sister Isabelle and nephew Jimmy.

She leaves to mourn son Robbie Noseworthy (Leihan), James Ryall (Denise), Reneé (Phonse) and all her grandchildren; brothers, Bill and Neil Donovan; sisters Maxine Cooze (Frank), Dale Dunne (Paul) and Marylou Donovan; very special sister Christina (Tina) Donovan who has been Lynn’s full support system before and during her illness; also her many nieces, nephews near and far. To the exceptional neighbors Chris, Amanda and their 3 boys, she admired you all.

We thank all who came to see Lynn during her stay in the Health Sciences Centre and the L. A. Miller Centre. Those who sent well wishes, through email, messenger, and facetime. To the staff at the Miller Centre, there are no words to convey our gratitude for your kindness, compassion, and unconditional support for Lynn. For that we will forever be grateful.

Life is about the journey not the destination. As per Lynn’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date where there will be plenty of laughs, food and maybe a neighborhood cat or two.

Donations in Lynn’s memory can be made to the S.P.C.A.

To all of Lynn’s family I send my deepest sympathies. I bowled with Lynn in the ladies league and she was a very good bowler., but I knew her for over 50 through a friend. Lynn had a distinctive laugh and a beautiful smile which seemed to be there constantly. I didn’t know that she was ill and I’m deeply sorry for that. I know you all have memories to share and stories of Lynn so keep them in your hearts as they will comfort you and bring smiles to your face in time Rest easy Lynn 💕.
