Manuel Spurrell

May 11, 1962 to September 15, 2021

Obituary

In the presence of his loving family, at the age of 59, Manuel passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Health Sciences Centre, Four North B.

Manuel grew up and lived his life in St. Philips. He cherished going down south with his wife, visiting his family in Edmonton, being at the cabin with his family, on the water with his son and spending every possible moment with his two precious grandchildren. Manuel was a strong person who would do anything for anyone. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Predeceased by parents Vera and Manuel Spurrell.

Leaving to mourn his wife Joyce; daughter Lindsey (Brian); son Manuel (Jessica); grandchildren Jake Furlong and Manuel Spurrell; as well as extended family and friends, too numerous to mention.

The family would not have gotten through this difficult time without Manuel’s brothers Don (Judy), Frank (Ethel), cousins, Derrick (Madeline) Karen (Morris) and best friend Carl (Sandra). Thank you to everyone else who has stopped by, called, left messages and supported us during the past three years. The family also extends special thanks to Dr. Johnston, Dr. Rorke, the medical staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, Fatima and the rest of the staff of the Paramedicine Program.

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday, September 18 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Philip’s Anglican Church on Sunday, September 19 at 2 p.m.

Donations in Manuel’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, in honor of his mother, Vera.
