Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, surrounded by her loving family. Margaret Ann Churchill age 75 years.
Predeceased by her husband Tolson, son in law Greg McLenaghan, parents Archibald & Veronica Williams, parents in law Peter & Mary Ann (Polly) Churchill, brother Jack Williams, sister Maureen Ryan, brothers in law Lloyd, Leonard, Douglas, & Arthur Churchill, Lewis Hussey, Al Venditello, sisters in law Enid and Eileen Churchill, Maureen and Mary Williams.
Marg loved her family unconditionally and her greatest joy was time spent with them. Left with the most precious memories and love are her daughters, Enid (Brian) Pendergast, Colleen (Scott) Ash, Cindy (Todd) Green, Peggy McLenaghan (Trevor Smith). Her grandchildren Vanessa Penney (Ronnie), Darcy and Daxon McLenaghan, Morgan and Riley Green, Angie (Trevor) Oshaway, Shawn (Krista) Pendergast. Great grandchildren Carter and Kaison Pendergast, Jace and Parker Oshaway. She also leaves to mourn her sister Rose Venditello, brothers Fred, Reg and Bill (Doreen) Williams. Sister in law Jean Hussey, brother in law Philip Ryan, and a huge circle of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Also long time neighbours Holly Somerton (who was like a daughter) Bernie Somerton, Jean and Keith McDonald. As well as special friends Elsie Pendergast and Hollie Green.
Marg will also be missed greatly by her fur babies Patches, Callie, Blackie and Smokey who she loved dearly.
A special thank you to Dr. Doody, nurses at Health Science Centre 4SB and our special family pharmacists at Dominion Stavanger Drive. An extra special thank you to Dr. Gokul Vidyasankar who gave us the gift of our mom and grandmother for the last three years. Your care, kindness and compassion with mom and our whole family will never be forgotten.
Mom was an amazing lady who exemplified courage and strength throughout her life. She had the most love for her family. Mom always worked hard and she was always thinking of what she could do for her family, what they needed and how she could help and of course remind us of everything we needed to do. Her strength and courage have been with her a lifetime but were definitely seen during her last few years of her illness.
She was a dedicated grandmother who loved her grandchildren endlessly. Whether it was playing games dancing on the floor with them, going to hockey and soccer games, baking, gardening or going on road trips. Nan was up for anything, even going on roller coasters when the mom’s could not, nan was there.
Her genuine friendliness and kindness stood out to everyone who met her. She would always lend a helping hand wherever she could. Mom had a deep faith and loved participating in church activities especially the ACW where she made some wonderful friendships.
Mom instilled in her family a sense of family values and virtues through her love, compassion and hard work. Through mom and dad’s relationship they created many wonderful memories and a strong family bond. They instilled in us how important family is and we will cherish that for a lifetime.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday, May 10 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Cremation will follow. Funeral service will be held from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove, on Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m., with interment to follow in St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Ext.

I would see her sometimes in summer when she’d visit Ferryland. We would have a chat and catch up some. She was always a kind and gentle soul who will be missed.
