Passed away peacefully at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on March 14th, in her 93rd year, Margaret Mabel Loder (nee Burry), the last person to be born on Newell’s Island, Bonavista Bay. Predeceased by her loving husband Nelson, brothers William, Clarence and George and sister Mildred (nee Wecks). Leaving to mourn, nieces June Duffett (Greenspond), Patsy Burry (Kelowna, BC), nephews David Burry (British Columbia), Daryl Burry (St. John’s), great nephews Jon and David, great nieces Dara and Leah and a large circle of family and friends.

 

Funeral to take place at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 18th from Carnell’s Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  Flowers and donations gratefully declined.

Mrs. Loder (Margaret) will be greatly missed by her neighbors and friends at Mount Pleasant Manor. She was always there with a smile and ready for a chat. She was as knowledgeable about current events as she was about history.. A very refined and elegant lady. ~ Sincere condolences to her family

We were saddened by the news of Aunt Margaret’s passing. She will forever be in our hearts.
