Obituary

Funeral services for the late Margaret (Peg) Bursey, who passed away November 22, 2017, will be held at the following times:

Monday, August 6, 2018, visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10:00 am from St. Teresa’s R. C.  Church, Mundy Pond Road, St. John’s. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road, St. John’s, joining her late husband, Raymond, who passed away February 3, 1995.

An informal reception will follow at St. Teresa’s Parish Hall beginning at 12 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Radio Station VOWR.

My sincerest condolences to Mrs Burseys family. I have very fond memories of her from my childhood and her connection to our family from many decades ago. I remember her as a Beautiful, kind and sharp witted lady. May she Rest In Peace.

Sorry to hear about Auntie Peg’s passing. Her & Uncle Ray were always at the house or vice versa.
As my sister Carolann said, They were Aunt Peg & Uncle Ray to us children.

She was a feisty lady !! A beloved friend to my Mom … a loving wife, mother & grandmother .. a lady who I admired a LOT !! I always said I wanted to grow old like Aunt Peg as she always had a zest for life. I send my condolences to all who loved her. She may be gone from our lives, but she will never be forgotten. Sorry to hear about Peg’s passing. I remember her and Ray very well, as we lived next door to the family on Bell Island back in the 1950s. Then they were “auntie Peg and Uncle Ray” to us children.
