Margaret (Peg) Eleanor Forbes (nee Bennett)

June 16, 1927 to February 15, 2025

Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom Margaret (Peg) Forbes (nee Bennett), who peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband Cyril Forbes.

Leaving to celebrate her life are her children, Robert (Georgia), Glen (Agatha), Susan (Bill) and Don (Pam); her grandchildren, Craig, Gillian, Lisa, Ashley, Jason, David and Emma; her Great-grandchildren, Joshua, Hayley, Lily, Vivian, Jude, Alice, Audrey and Sullivan; one great-great-grandchild Saydi; and a large circle of family and friends.

We give thanks the wonderful staff at Chancellor Park for all her care and the kindness they showed her.

Peg was an active member of St. Andrew’s Church. She enjoyed playing bridge with her club and meeting friends for tea and a chat. Peg had a wonderful sense of humour, which she loved to share while spending time with family and friends.

Peg had a great love of animals so a donation in her name may be made to the SPCA  but flowers are also graciously accepted.

Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday February 20th from 3PM – 7PM.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 21st at 10AM at the Carnell Memorial Chapel.

97! Wow! She was a beautiful human in every way. I bought my first sewing machine from her. An old singer in a table that weighed a ton lol I can see the two of us lifting it out to the truck laughing the entire time. I ended up having a home sewing business and she ended up getting me to make curtains for her new condo when she moved. ❤️ She was certainly one of the people I missed when we left the Kirk. My sincere condolences to you all. 🙏🏼
