Obituary
It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Marjorie Mary Mitchell (née Burton) who passed away on July 11th, 2026, at the age of 75 in the arms of her loving husband of 60 years.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and generous heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
She is reunited with those who went before her, including William Burton, father; Geraldine Burton, mother; Grace Mitchell, mother-in-law, Samuel Mitchell, father-in-law; Patricia Parrell, sister; William Burton, brother; Elizabeth Bown, sister; Carolanne Owens, sister; Juanita Evans, sister; and a very special grandson, Taylor Mitchell, who was waiting for her with open arms.
Leaving to mourn and forever cherish her memory is her loving husband of 60 years, Albert Mitchell; together with her children, Dawna Cleary (Bill), Sam Mitchell (Cathy), Lisa Oliver (Steve); grandchildren, Alyssa Gallant (Ryan), Hunter and Holly Oliver; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Cooper Gallant, her beloved sisters, Shirley Barrett, Susan Oliver (Bob), Ann Davis (Larry), Mary Heart (Eddy) as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A special and heartfelt thank you is extended to her beloved sister, Susan Oliver, and her daughter-in-law, Cathy Rideout, whose unwavering love, care, and devotion kept them faithfully by her side during the last few months of her life.
While we grieve her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace. Her love and guidance will remain with us always, and her memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew her. Until we meet again, she will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Visitation to take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 1-4 and 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 15th.
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 16th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Carnell Memorial Chapel.

Growing up, I spent a considerable amount of time at Aunt Marge’s. Even though she had a busy household of her own, she always made me feel welcome and treated me like part of the family. I’ll always be grateful for the kindness she showed me.
I also vividly remember her incredible baking. Her cheesecake and delicious squares were always a highlight, and those memories will always make me smile. Thinking of you, Uncle Ab, Dawna, Lisa, Sam and family, during this time.
OH Sue, and Marge’s family, so sad to see this.You have lost so many family members lately. I remember when I met Marge and Abby at Ruth’s and Billy’s house in on the farm when Billy worked for Mary’s Poultry Farm, her and Abby were just dating then.
