My dear cousins, my daughters and I hold you close to our hearts as you mourn the loss of your incredible mother. Laureen, your tribute to your mom, was moving and spot on; she was the epitome of a mother and chose the three of you. I hold dear the memories of visits with Aunt Maureen and Uncle Lar in Calgary, St. John’s, Maine, and Florida. I am grateful my girls got to know them both from such a young age during our Largo visits. We cherish the beautiful baby quilts she made them. Aunt Maureen was warm, loving, accepting, honest, and witty. She was generous with her time and talents and will live on in your hearts. She was a sister to my folks and an amazing aunt to us. May you find comfort in the words of this proverb, “The soul would have no rainbow, if the eyes had no tears.” ~ With much love, Leanne, Sophia & Scarlette
I just left a message that I did not mean to leave as anonymous.
Dear Paul, Sean and Laureen,
I am so sorry to have missed your mother’s wake and funeral. I was shocked to learn that she had passed away. She was here at my house in late February or early March donating items to our L’Arche auction. She was so busy but looking forward to getting settled in at Littledale. If her death was sudden and a shock for all of you, I hope it was blessedly peaceful for her.
On my own behalf and on behalf of members of our our L’Arche Avalon community, please accept our condolences on your great loss.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences onl the death of your mom , Maureen Fahey . I first had the pleasure of meeting Maureen about 10 years ago through my work with Ovarian Cancer Research and Education in NL at Memorial . Through this work and Maureen’s support, Belles With Balls NL was formed . I lost my own mother to ovarian cancer and it was this connection that Maureen reached out to me to identify that she and my mother , John Ryall Walsh Garcia attended Mercy convent together … ironic that they suffered from the same dreadful disease of Ovarian Cancer .
A beautiful soul and a strong woman … like my mom …. May your family keep this woman close to your heart and in your daily prayers. God Bless you all .

Dear Paul, Laureen and Sean
How do we say “Good bye” to your Mum and my dearest and longest friend.
She was the very best pal anyone could have. From our school days, to living 2 doors from each other in Halifax, to the happy years we lived around the corner from each other in Goose Bay, to the great times in Quebec at your home there, to my always having a bed in St. John’s or Chapels Cove when I came “home” from Ottawa she was always there for me and for everyone whom she came in contact with. I will especially remember our many walks when, you chatting with your hands and arms swinging in the wind, pushed me into numerous ditches along our path. Maureen’s charm, caring spirit and wonderful smile will live with us forever. I will miss you always and remember you forever. Big Hug wherever you are with Holy God.
Joan

To Paul, Sean, Laureen and all extended family, my condolences on the passing of an incredible woman. I have many fond memories of Aunt Maureeen. Both Maureen and Lar were so good to me after I graduated from university. I remember being in Goose Bay and playing the song Homecoming for Maureen on piano. I always thought she was a classy, sophisticated lady – yet she was one of the most approachable people I have ever met. I know that family meant everything to her. She had a remarkable life and will be truly missed.
So sorry to hear about the loss of Maureen. Condolences to all the family.
