Passed peacefully away on Sunday March 24, 2019 at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by family and friends in her 75th year. Predeceased by her husband Dick, 1995; parents Max and Doris Vaters (nee Penney). Leaving to mourn her loving children Patricia (Robert Seymour), Craig (Sherie Driscoll) and Richard (Linda); four grandchildren: Ava, John, Anna and Christopher; loving sister Ann (Vaters) Luscombe; niece Kelly and Nephew Bill; also, other relatives, especially Max and Maureen Butt, and friends, including numerous special friends. Special thank you to the nurses and staff at the ICU at the Health Science Centre for their care and compassion. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday March 26 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday March 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday March 28 from St. James United Church at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers accepted or donations in Maxine’s memory may be made to St. James United Church.

She was determined to live her life to the fullest in spite of her medical condition.

I was very sad to here that Maxine passed away. She spent the day with me the Wednesday before she was admitted to hospital in Florida. We played bridge together during the summers and when she was visiting in Fl.
