Obituary
Passed away suddenly at home November 13, 2021, Mercedes Strickland (Evans), aged 76.
Predeceased by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Evans, infant daughter Mary; siblings Shirley, Bernice, Gerald and Fred Jr. Also parents in law, Abe and Margaret Strickland.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories her soul mate of 51 years Geoff Strickland; her children Jude O’Reilly (Raylene), Roxanne O’Reilly (Neil), Elizabeth Strickland (Derrick) and Kellilynn Strickland (Mark). Two grandchildren Evan O’Reilly and Chantel O’Reilly, who were her pride and joy. Also, leaving to mourn her is sister and best friend Ruth Hawley (Greg) and special friends Karen and Brad King (poker buddies). As well, as other relatives, family and friends.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, November 15th from 11am to 9pm and Tuesday, November 16th from 9am to 12 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, 75 Kiwanis Street on Tuesday November 16th at 2pm with interment to follow at Kenmount Road Anglican Cemetery. Funeral attendance by registration only at www.michaelmas.ca/funeral-register.
Flowers gratefully accepted or memorial donation may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
