Mildred Gertrude "Mimi" Case

May 15, 1941 to July 30, 2021

Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mildred Gertrude “Mimi” Case (nee Pike) on 30 July 2021, in the presence of loved ones at the Health Sciences Centre in St John’s, at the age of 80 and after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Spaniard’s Bay in 1941, Mimi was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Lloyd; parents Gordon and Hazel (nee Best) Pike and sister Linda Pike.

Leaving to celebrate Mimi’s life and to mourn her passing are sons Andrew (Nori), Stephen (Gerry) and Jonathan (Shannon); grandchildren Julia, Allison, Megan, Aidan, and Ben; brother Gordon Pike (Daphne) and sister Betty (nee Pike) Wells (Richard, deceased) as well as many nieces, nephews, close friends, and other relatives, with special mention of nieces Catherine and Martha Wells with whom Mimi was especially close.

Our family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and other staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their attentive care and kindness.

As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and she is to be reunited with Dad and their beloved dog Toby for return to nature in a private family gathering at a later date.  In lieu of flowers and funeral services, the family would respectfully request that you consider donating to your local foodbank or to someone less fortunate in Mom’s memory.
