Obituary

ANDREWS, Millicent Linda (nee Ash) – Passed peacefully away at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear in the early hours of Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 92 years. She was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 10 Portugal Cove.

Predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Sarah, husband Alexander, brothers Hedley (Ethel), William (Anne), sister Margaret (Lloyd); brothers-in-law Eden Dyer, Ronald Oates, Andrew Hiscock (Violet), Bill Andrews (Grace), Ralph Andrews (Queen), Cyril Andrews (Rose), Wilson Andrews; sister-in-law Clara Garland (Frank).

Leaving to mourn sons Robert and Wayne (Sharon); daughter Karen Meulenkamp (Chris); grandchildren Sarah, Michelle, Michael, Sean, Stephen, Emma & Meghan; great grandchildren Judah, Alex and Cameron; sisters Emma Dyer, Gladys Oates, Ruby Schwab (Albert), Verda Greening (Fred); brother John Ash (Emma); brother-in-law Alwyn Andrews (Susie) and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, 4 south for their care and compassion shown towards Millicent during her time there.

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Road, St. Johns) on Saturday, October 13 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, October 14 from 10:00 Am to 9:00 PM. Funeral service will take place from St. Lawrence Anglican Church on Monday, October 15 at 2:00 PM, with interment to follow in St. Lawrence Church Cemetery, Bauline Line, Portugal Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Lawrence Anglican Church.

Dear Karen and Chris and Meghan and Emma were so sad to hear of Karen’s Mom’s passing. Sorry we did not visit the funeral home as we were in Toronto. Our thoughts are with you all

Our condolences to you all. Dad spoke of Milc often, and I felt that she was one of his favorite cousins. The first time I spoke with her, I was so impressed with her look at life. She told me how old she was and that she was ‘over the hump’, and that was at least five years ago. She was a spark plug and I know she has left you with lots of great memories.

Karen I was so saddened to here od your mom’s passing. She was such a wonderful kind hearted soul.I have so many wonderful memories growing up and the time spent at your place.. sending deepest condolences to you and all your family.

Sending big hugs your way on the passing of your mom… I worked with her more than 30 years ago at Drover’s Superette and she was always a sweet lady who looked after me very well. We shared many a joke and a good laugh… God bless her and may she rest in peace…
