I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Blackwood’s passing. She was a wonderful head nurse when I worked at the Janeway in the late seventies. She was very well respected and admired.

Sorry to hear of Mrs. Blackwood’s passing.
Our Daughter, Charlene, was born 42 years ago on Feb 8th in Burin and was transferred to the Janeway Hospital and that is where Mrs. Blackwood became a part of our lives as she was a Head Nurse there. She was there for us during Charlene’s initial long hospital stay and the many more that ensued over the years. We were fortunate and grateful for the excellent care Mrs. Blackwood gave Charlene and for being there for us as well.
Charlene loved her dearly. They kept in contact with each other through cards & visits. Charlene passed away in July 2012. Mrs. Blackwood continued to keep in touch with our family. We have many special memories of Mrs. Blackwood to treasure always. Sincere condolences to all the family.

My heartfelt condolences to all the Blackwood family on the loss of your dear Mom.

I was so sad to hear this news. I worked with Mrs Blackwood at the Janeway immediately after I finished Nurses training. 1976-1978
She was a lovely person and a fabulous nurse and we shared many fun times together working on unit 3BCD. Janeway employees are like a big family and over the years we have kept connected even as recent as Christmas we had a luncheon with Mrs Blackwood and reminisced about our days working together. We will all miss her dearly.

My deepest condolences for your loss. Mrs Blackwood was my head nurse on unit 3BC&D at the old Janeway. She took me under her wing as a new grad and was a great teacher and mentor. She was very well loved and respected. She strongly encouraged and supported all of my endeavours as I pursued further education ( and there was always a card in the mail from Rose Blackwood for any special accomplishment). Mrs Blackwood always had a very special place in my heart. May her gentle soul Rest In Peace.
