In Loving Memory of Moya Allison Tucker
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Moya Allison Tucker, in her 75th year. After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, her body grew weary and could no longer fight. On May 27, 2025, surrounded by love, we said our final goodbye.
Moya was predeceased by her beloved parents, Agnes Tucker (1996) and Victor Tucker (2009), and her dear sister-in-law, Loretta Tucker (née Gosse, 2014).
She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a legacy of love. Mourning her loss are her devoted husband of 53 years, Warren, her adoring daughters Tanya Ryan (Rich) and Stacey Whalen (Roger), and her three treasured grandchildren: Julianna, Ben, and Maisie, who were the light of her life.
Moya is also deeply missed by her sister Carol Budden (Dave), brothers Vic (Linda), Doug (Judy), Mac (Sandy), and Barry, as well as her sister-in-law and best friend, Elenor, whose bond with mom was unbreakable. A large and loving circle of nieces and nephews mourn her loss, with heartfelt thanks especially to Angie, Jessica, Brad, Sarah, and Vanessa—your love, presence, and unwavering support brought her great comfort, especially in her final months. She will also be lovingly remembered by her lifelong friend, Dallas Barnes.
Moya had a vibrant spirit and a zest for life that was truly contagious. She loved to shop—and could spend hours browsing before heading back the next day for more. Her happiest times were spent at the cabin with “the girls,” dancing, laughing, and sharing a drink. And oh, how she loved to dance. Above all, Moya’s greatest joy came from being a grandmother. Her love for Julianna, Ben, and Maisie knew no bounds; they were her heart, her pride, and her everything.
Our family is profoundly grateful to the incredible staff at the Health Sciences Centre—particularly Dr. Quigley, Dr. Armstrong, and the compassionate nurses and staff on 4 North B. Your kindness, care, and respect helped make Mom’s final days more comfortable than we could have hoped for.
To all our family and friends who visited Mom during her time in hospital—your presence, hugs, and shared memories brought her comfort and peace. She felt your love, and we felt your strength. The outpouring of condolences, kind words, and gestures during this difficult time has touched us more deeply than words can say.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 2–4 PM and 7–9 PM. A celebration of Moya’s life will take place on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Philip’s Anglican Church.
Flowers are gratefully accepted.

Moya, ‘Moie”, you were a beautiful person. You were not only family but a friend to all those that you loved. I will always have fond memories of by the pond swimming while you tanned and chatted with Mom….the friendship you had with Pam and how you sat with her through her hardest times in the hospital. Lots of happy memories that will last a lifetime and then some. From all of us, Me, Carl, Paul & Tanya – rest easy and enjoy reuniting with all of those that passed before you. XO
