Nancy Reid

The littlest things are where we find the most joy”.  Nancy Cavell Crocker Reid – the coolest Mother – passed away peacefully on August 9,2024 at 11:11am at the age of 54. She was born on May 6,1970 to Evelyn & Gordon Crocker. Her greatest joy came from her daughter April. Nancy & April were kindred spirits. Their bond was unbreakable, treasured, and cherished through their life and love for each other. Nancy had a profound love for animals and them for her, often bringing home stray pets and nurturing them with her gentle spirit. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love for April and her friends – she was always there to listen, laugh, and just be there for them. There was always a sparkle about Nancy – Her eyes sparkled and danced when she talked of those she loved, and she loved sparkly things!!  She was a true light in this world!  The Newfoundland Growlers also brought a sparkle to her eye – their biggest fan!! Nancy found solace in the simplest treasures, nature, family adventures, Gander river rides, sea sides, hiking trails, and sharing the beauty of it all with April, Abby and family.

Our greatest strength lies in the gentleness and tenderness of our own heart – Nancy’s heart touched everyone she met. She is survived by her daughter April Nichole (Abby), Randy; her two sisters Vera, Maxine (Conn); and brothers Calvin, Gord (Peggy), Dennis (Andrea); mother and father-in-law Nellie & Harry Reid; sister-in-law Christine (Freddie), and extended family members that adored her and will remember her sparkle and unwavering love.

Our family is so grateful for the medical care that Nancy received from the HSC – from the paramedics, medical staff, housekeeping staff & Rev Karen – thank you all for your professionalism and kindness in our heartbreaking journey.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at a later date at a private setting with her family.
