Obituary
Passed peacefully away at St. Pat’s Home on May 13 aged 88 years.
Predeceased by her husband William James Picco, sons Peter and Wayne, and daughter Charlotte. Leaving to mourn 9 children, 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A loving mother and grandmother, an advocate for the community from politics to Church and Legion, and everything else in between. Always cheerful, and ready to lend a hand to everyone in need.
Funeral service will be held from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove, on Sunday, May 22 at 2p.m., with interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line.
Donations in Neta’s memory may be made to St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove.
You will be Dearly Missed.

Dear Neta…she was such a nice lady. Selfless too, as I recall. We are richer for having her in our lives.

Neta is a tough act to follow. Her involvement in public affairs (church, local government and so on) is second to none. I admired her greatly, and well remember her canvassing the entire community on foot for her church with her comrade. We shared a love of plants and many others will remember her as I do. For her family: Treasure her memory always.

Back in the day, she was the driving force that eventually pressured the government to install the guard rails up that road along the shoreline. RIP Mrs. Picco.
