You had a beautiful send off today at your funeral. Cherish your precious memories and may they give you comfort in the days ahead.

Today is a very sad day as we say good bye to Poppy Butler. When I moved to Bauline 13 years ago Kim Janes took me in as a part of there family. Me and my kids spent many holidays celebrating with her family as mine all live far away. My kids referred to her parents as Nanny and Poppy Butler. They will be lost without him as we all will be. Family does not have to be blood as they are my family in our little town of Bauline.

Aunt Laura, Terry, Robert, Kim and family, so very sorry to hear of Uncle Bert’s passing. Had lots of good laughs and fun growing up with Uncle Bert. He played a big part in all of our lives,.. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Rest in Peace Uncle Bert, Love to all Mable, Charles and family

Laura, Terry, Robert and Kim, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Bert was a big presence in our lives growing up in Bauline, a trusted bus driver and always got us to hockey and back home safely.
We chatted with him last summer when we went fishing with Robert. Thanks for the memories.
RIP my friend.

Laura, Terry, Robert, and Kim and family,
I was deeply saddened by the news of Berts passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Thanks for all the safe trips on the bus to and from school.

RIP Bert

Laura, Terry, Robert & Kim,
We are deeply saddened by the passing of “Uncle Bert”. I have many childhood memories of him driving me to school every day, Friday night hockey games to Fielding Gardens and Cadets on Saturday, he was a daily figure in my life. Our hearts go out to you all during this difficult time and may our prayers serve as comfort to you all.

To Mr.Butler’s family,

Bert was our bus driver for many years during cadets. No matter if it was a snow storm or sunny day he got us there safe. During the winter he often use to say if I can get yee all there then not much odds in going. He kept us all safe and had a smile for us but he could also tell us to sit down or he will stop the bus just as quick! Thinking back he really did have the patience of a saint!
Thoughts and prayers to his family. Rest Easy.

Bert is one of the most loving persons I have ever known. A kind, thoughtful and caring man, he looked out for me and others when we were young. When ever I think of our sea cadet provincial tour way back when, I still marvel at his infectious good humour and, above all else, his enduring patience.

Kim
I am sure your dad and mine are sitting together having a chat.. They may not hear what each other said, but the smile said it all. Two good friends and a lifetime of memories.
Thinking of you and family as you say goodbye to a great man. Take care.

The Butler Family: So very sorry to hear of Bert’s passing. Bert drove me to school in my high school years. Never left Bauline Line without me. He use to tease me all the time, quite the character. These past years I had the pleasure seeing him and Mrs. Butler on many occasions for they deal with my place of employment. He never changed always giving me a hard time but in fun, and I gave it back to him. He certainly will be missed, thinking of you all at this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace.

Kim and Family,

We are truly saddened to hear of your Dad’s passing and would like to express our deepest and heartfelt condolences to you and your family. May your memories of your father sustain and strengthen you as you navigate the difficult days ahead. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this time. Take care.

Laura,Kim,Brian,Terry and Robert I know you must all feel the deep loss of such a friendly and personable man. Whenever I came home in the summer to Bauline to visit with my mother I usually just kept driving down the road to see my two favorite relatives in the world. There was always a friendly smile and an invite to come in and sit for a spell. I wasn’t allowed to leave to go back to Alberta without a suitcase packed full of frozen cod and or caplin. He will never be forgotten by me or my family.

Brian, Kim, and family – So sorry to hear about your loss. Thinking of you all.

To the Butler Family Bert was a great man. He was my bus driver to high school . After many years one day last summer a car drove up to my door. and lord and behold it was Bert, Don’t remember me do ya.? Yes I do I said . we talked for a while as we walk around the farm. he talked about his fruit trees in his garden and the fresh fish he cot. when he left his parting words I’ll be back with some fish for you. and sure enough he would. Just a great fellow. So sorry to hear of his passing. our prayers go out to you all . RIP my good friend George and Brenda Bursell

Our sincere condolences to Laura, Terry, Robert, and Kim. May the many happy memories you have console you at this time. He was a great friend to all and will long be remembered.

Brian, Kim, and family – we’re so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Take care.

My Condolence to the Butler Family. Bert drove the school bus but he was much more than a bus driver. Between Sea Cadets and schooll, most my age spent more time with Bert than we did with our parents. Bert was a natural leader, a mentor and I am proud to say a trusted friend. I left Bauline many years ago…but the fresh cod I had last summer during a visit home was provided by Bert. Memories last forever!

Terry, Robert and Kim, so very sad to hear the news of your Dad’s passing. I think every child who went to school in Pouch Cove and St. John’s over the years knew ‘Uncle Bert’, spending their trips to and from school on his bus. Those were some memorable times. Sending our prayers, love and deepest sympathies to you, your Mom and the rest of your family.

Sending our love and prayers. Bert will always be remembered as a wonderful man! Keep your memories close to your heart and he will never be far xo

Saddened to hear this news. I will keep you all in my prayers, Laura, Robert, Terry and Kim.

Bert was a great and well respected man.

Condolences to Laura and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad and difficult time. Cherish your memories!
