Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s hospital surrounded by her loving family, Norma Elizabeth Gosling (Baldwin) on January 25th, 2026, at the age of 86 years.
Predeceased by her husband, Elias James Gosling; by her parents Percy and Mabel Baldwin, parents-in-law Pearl and Volta Butler, son-in-law Garry Flynn; sisters Marion Jenson, Rose Utterback, Sharon Baldwin, brothers Lloyd, Duncan and David, sister-in-law Frances Baldwin and brothers-in-law Boris Jensen, and Bill Slade.
Leaving to mourn, children; Larry (Beverley), Judy (Dennis), Alan (Debbie), and Earl (Lisa), grand-children; Neil (Shelly), Bradley, Julia (David), Mark (Ginny), Brandon, Stephen (Curtis), Andrew and Anna, great grand-children; Aiden, Allie, Hailey and Bella. As well sister Flora (John), sisters-in-law; Muriel (Walt) and Rose, brothers; Fred, Robert (Ruby), Bill (Marjorie) and brother-in-law; James (Sue), sister-in-law Alma Slade. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Mom enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, travelling, spending winters in Florida, camping, quilting, crafts and shopping. She volunteered at the ACWA and the WI. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you for the exceptional care to the doctors and nursing staff of St. Clare’s hospital, 5E and 7W.
Cremation has taken place. The family will be accepting visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home located at 329 Freshwater Road in St. John’s. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 29th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 30th at 11:00 a.m. The service will be live streamed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Mark’s Church, Logy Bay Road.
Her life was a garden, lovingly tended with kindness, strength, and care. She nurtured those around her with patience and wisdom, helping them grow and flourish in their own lives. Her love continues to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her — a lasting reflection of the beautiful garden she so faithfully tended.

Thinking of Norma’s family at this time. I grew up a few houses up from her on the lower road Dunville. I remember her teaching my baby Brothers piano. Her property’s was always well manicured with beautiful flowers. So many of her generation have passed, miss all the stories our mothers use to tell of when we were young.. Bless you all .
