Sorry to hear of Mrs Fong’s passing. My memory of her and Hayford go way back to the days when I was young and our family would visit the restaurant in Carbonear. She saw me painting the monument at the cemetery one day and wanted me to paint three headstones for her. I was only home for a few days and tried to get out of it but she wasn’t taking no for an answer. It was the start of me painting many headstones. It was a pleasure knowing her and she will be sadly missed.
