Obituary
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Oleksandr Petrovych Brovkin on April 20, 2025, at the age of 69.
Born and raised in Ukraine, Oleksandr spent most of his life there before moving to Newfoundland, Canada, in the last year and a half. A devoted husband and loving father, he was the steady foundation of his family — kind, dependable, and full of quiet strength.
Oleksandr will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his sense of responsibility, his love of life, and the warmth he gave so freely to those he loved.
Leaving to mourn his loss are his beloved wife Yanina, his children Mariana, Eduard, and Natalia, four cherished grandchildren, and two adored great-grandchildren.
You passed away on a Holy Day — on Easter. God took you gently into His arms, and we find comfort in knowing that you are now in a better place, surrounded by peace and light.
Visitation and farewell will take place on Friday, April 25, at Carnell’s Funeral Home in St. John’s, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Rest in peace, Oleksandr. You will forever live in our hearts.

I worked with Sasha at the ANC, and I enjoyed my time with him. I am saddened by his loss, and I offer my condolences to Sasha’s family and friends. We will miss him.
