Mom passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on December 22, 2024, with us by her side. Mom will be spending her first Heavenly Christmas with our dad, Peter.
She was the daughter of Patrick and Agatha Finn of Carbonear and was predeceased by all of her siblings. She was the baby sister of Loyola, James, Gerard, Kevin, Gertrude and Elizabeth.
Her children Ann Marie Bishop (Charlie) and Kathy Hare (Calvin), along with grandchildren Michael Mooney (Katherine), Deanna Hann (Jimmy) and Stephen Hare (Alex) are all left with wonderful memories. Her precious little great-grandchildren Penelope, Joyner and Reece adored their Gigi. Also leaving to mourn, brother-in-law Vince Withers and sister-in-law Ellen Finn.
Mom loved flowers and was a huge supporter of the Eating Disorder Foundation. Flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation may be made to the Eating Disorder Foundation.
Mom leaves behind many close family and friends who will mourn her loss. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be taking place at Carnell’s Funeral Home at 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday, December 27 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 28 at 12pm, with inurnment to follow at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.

Kathy and Ann Marie, I have such great memories of being in your Mom’s company over the years whenever I’d see her at Uncle John and Aunt Gert’s or wherever the Coadys may have gotten together. Her smile was radiant and her laughter contagious. She was such a warm and gentle soul. Thinking of you both and your families as you navigate these early days and celebrate her life and the legacy she and your Dad have created! What a celebration up there now between all the Finns, Withers and Coadys having a big reunion!

I was so sorry to hear of your mom’s death. When my sister Mary and I went to Carbonear for our summer holiday, Patricia was one of the girls we would hang around with. Over the years we lost track of each other…connecting only at Gatherings of weddings and funerals. She was always fun to be with. May her gentle soul Rest In Peace. Though I will not be able to be at the funeral, my prayers are with you all at this sad time.
