It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, on Tuesday December 12th, 2023, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, Patricia “Theresa” Russell, age 74 years, formerly of Portugal Cove.
Predeceased by her husband, Fredrick; parents, Edward and Mary Hall.
Left to mourn her loss are her sons: Ian (Lori), Greg and Sheldon; daughters: Debbie Thomas (Tony) and Brenda Russell (fiancée Henry Rowsell); her grandchildren whom she cherished: Curtis Thomas (Stephanie), Alex Warren, Haleigh, Nathan, Travis and Celine Russell; sisters: Rita Thorne and Mary Greeley; brothers: Donny Hall (Vivian) and Gerry Hall (Patsy); her three furry companions, Harley, Bailey and Chloe; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Gloria Warr, Marie Mugridge and Doreen McDonald.
Special thanks to the staff of St. Clare’s Emergency, especially to nurse Shania Griffiths and Dr. Laura Edwards, and to the doctors and staff of the I.C.U. especially Allison and Nicole.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. from 10-12 p.m., 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday, December 15th.
Funeral service to be held at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove on Saturday December 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Ext. Portugal Cove.
Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations to a charity of one’s choice.

I am grateful to have had the pleasure to meet Theresa and the family. She was the life of the party and always made me laugh and made sure I was full.
She was a great lady and I’ll treasure the memories always.

The world lost a beautiful person this week.
Matthew and I were just chatting about all the laughs we had with Theresa when we visited each time. I’m glad we had the opportunity to get to know her. It brings a smile to my face to think of her not being afraid to speak her mind, telling everyone how it’s going to be, and especially telling my Dad where he can go when he makes a smart remark. I’m glad my mom had someone who could help fill a void when she lost her Mom.
I know how much she added to my life and I only knew her for too short of a time. My thoughts are with her family who have lost their Mom, Aunt, sister and/or friend. I know she was such a big part of your lives and I hope you find peace while you heal ❤

He thought the world of her then and continued to do so and kept contact with her up until her passing. I first met her while working at Drover’s Superette…She was a funny wonderful lady who will be missed. Hold your memories close to your hearts and she will be with you forever.
