Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, of Patrick Hogan, age 63 years, after a short but courageous battle with cancer..

Predeceased by his beautiful baby girl Nichol; parents Gerald and Isabel (Barnes); baby brother David; brother Raymond; sister Paula; sister-in-law; Linda; nephew Scott.

Leaving to mourn is his child, who is always called “his buddy” the pride and joy of his life T (Thomas); best friend and lifelong partner Katherine; sisters Mary Stansbury (Frank), Rowena Bugden (John), and Lillian Morgan (John); brothers Gerry Hogan and Richard Hogan (Michelle); long time friend Ray White; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Paddy found his lifelong passion for cooking at 17, when he started cooking at the Fishing Admiral, he has since worked in many restaurants throughout the city, his dedication and work ethic was second none. Even winning an award for his famous moose soup. The number of friends he met along the way are too numerous to mention.

Special thank you to the nurses and staff of 4South-A at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and support. Also, to the nurses, doctors and paramedics of the Palliative Care Team for the support they gave to Pat and his family during this difficult time.

Cremation has taken place.

Celebration of life and burial will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory maybe made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.

I worked with Pat at the Hotel and when he was at Rustlers we always loved his Jiggs Dinners. He was such a nice man to work with and I’m sure he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Pat. May your soul fly to Heaven in the arms of the Angles.

I knew Paddy from visiting the Stone House when I was with PCO back in the 90’s. He was real pleasant gentleman, always the same demeanour whenever I came by for an inspection or service call. May he Rest In Peace.
