Dear Courtney,
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother. We met in high school and, thanks to the alphabetical seating arrangement, I sat behind her in Grade 11. She was kind and friendly and fun-loving. Our paths didn’t often cross after high school, but I remember her fondly.
