It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of a dear brother, surrounded by his loving family and partner Greta at his side at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital after a long illness. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Peter O’Leary. His partner Phyllis R. Lush (2005); his niece Barbara Garland; nephew Chad Mercer and several aunts and uncles. Leaving to mourn his sons: Bradley (Mike Burry), Justin; grandchildren Kenzie and Zachary; daughter Charmaine (David Ruggeri); grandchildren Lauren, Elizabeth, Bradley, of Brampton Ont.
Recently connected with his son Mannie Taveroff (Nellie); grandchildren Cameron and Seren, of Montreal; Partner, Greta Wakeling, who relentlessly cared for Peter till the end and was always at his side and a blessing to his family; Siblings: Sisters Helen Lamar, Joan O’Leary, Roselind O’Leary, Sharon Barrett (Keith); Brothers: Edd (Carmel), Basil (Iris) of Goose Bay, Brian of Goose Bay, Paul (Theresa) of Job’s Cove, Roger (Sharon) of Calgary; Plus numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Special thank you to Dr.’s and nurses of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital for their special attention and devotion to Peter, their compassion will never be forgotten by the family and Greta. Peter was a popular karaoke singer and will be missed by everyone he entertained. The family will accept visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday January 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday January 3rd from 10 to 12 Noon. Funeral service will follow in the Carnell Memorial Chapel at 12 Noon with interment to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Peter at the Liquor Corporation for several years. He was a good worker and was always interested in his job and taking courses to improve his knowledge. I haven’t seen him since I left there in 2005. Please accept my condolences.
