Dear Sheilagh, Maria and Suzanne:

I was shocked to hear of Peter’s passing – myself and Gordie and Jimmy were really.

I am so sorry for your loss. Peter was such a fun person, always carrying on and making us laugh. We had great times together in the neighborhood hanging out, playing spotlight, going swimming at the Mews Centre and visiting your house. I have many fond memories growing up around the corner from you folks. Our Mom, Clare (Fennessey) Power was also a good friend of your Mom growing up.
I wish you all the best as you struggle with this huge loss. Kind regards, Susan (Power) Tobin

I was shocked to learn of Peter’s passing. We had reconnected through Facebook after losing touch for decades.

We were so very sorry to hear the sad news about Peter. Our sincere condolences to Maria, Suzanne, and Sheilagh and all of Peter’s family and friends.

I first met Peter on the oil rig Bow Drill 1 in the early 1980s. We had some fun times on the rig in between doing a lot of hard work. I also spent some time with Peter off the rig and they were always good times.
Peter was a standup guy who always brought a good work ethic tempered with a fun loving spirit to the table.
I will remember Peter’s engaging smile, bright eyes and laughter. Just in case you guys didn’t know it, his nickname back in the day was “Pigpen” which was used lovingly, not disrespectfully.. He was always up front when the dirtiest or most dangerous jobs came up……he was a magnet for dirt and danger 😊👍 on the rig and always came out on top, with that big smile.
He is being remembered by a lot of people these last few days, far and wide.
My deepest sympathy and condolences on your loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I felt I knew Peter better than I did as you talked about him all the time and I know you were kindred spirits. As you said thick as theves. Peter was so young and vibrant which makes this all the more heartbreaking. He would want you carry on and remember the good times and the memories will hold your heart intact until you meet again. Keep going and remember his last words to you which seem so fitting. Keep your chin up. You got this. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during the days and weeks ahead. Hugs my friend.

Peter was a great guy and we’ve had many good times and laughs together.
Keep his memories alive.
Thinking of you.
Sending hugs

To all Peter’s family,
Ray and I offer our sincerest condolences. I have many fond memories of Peter dating back to the ‘70s in the McGrory household on Dundas Street when I would drop by to see my friend Maria. Peter would frequently answer the door and welcome me into the kitchen where he would happily bring me up to date on the latest happenings in the life of a 12-year-old boy. His stories were often rapidly told and accompanied by a little bounce that demonstrated his enthusiasm for a particular subject. Over the years, Peter and I would periodically happen to run into each other around town. He always had time for a little catch-up. During our conversations, Peter’s warm personality was reflected in more recent anecdotes. I’m sure I could still see that delightful bounce that made him so endearing all those years ago. Rest In peace, Peter
