Robert Michael (Mike) Miles Windsor

June 9, 1956 to August 30, 2026

Obituary

Robert Michael (Mike) Miles Windsor – the pastor, teacher, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend – passed peacefully into the presence of God on August 30, 2026, at the age of 70 years.

He is predeceased by his loving father, Robert (Bobby) Windsor, whom he missed every day. He never missed the chance to speak about his dad, the example that he set in his faith and in his loving kindness, and strived every day to be like him. He was also predeceased by his parents-in-law, John and Maisie Saunders.

He leaves behind his wife, Pauline (née Saunders); children, Jon-Michael Windsor and Carlye (Steven) Fudge; grandchildren, Julien Janes, and Miles and Theodore Fudge; mother, Marion Windsor; sister, Rosalie Windsor-Shriver; brothers-in-law, Eldon (Patsy) Saunders, Robert (Christeena) Saunders, and Carl (Evelyn) Saunders; and sister-in-law, Marion Pilgrim; nieces and nephews: Michele (Paul) Francis and Quinton and Jason Kean; Andrew Saunders, Cheryl (Phil) Tulk, and Eva (Vaughn) Clarke; Melanie and Michael Pilgrim; Kurwin Saunders and Nikki (Craig) Gordon; Jillian Saunders and Megan (Jason) Moisan.

Pauline was the love of his life and truly his best friend. For 48 years they shared a life full of joy, ministry, art, poetry, adventure, and of course, laughter. Their love for each other was palpable and unwavering – a shining example to their children.

His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and they knew it. They brought him so much joy and pride, and made his wallet much lighter lol. Anything they could possibly need or want was theirs if it was within his power and all he needed in return was to know they were happy and healthy.

He also leaves behind many special cousins, friends, and great-nieces and great-nephews, that he cherished like grandchildren. He loved them all individually and was a proud Uncle Mike. He also loved the many students he had the privilege of teaching over the years. They all held a special place in his heart and he in theirs.

Mike was well known for his wit and humour, never missing the chance to get a laugh and bring a smile to people’s faces and fill a room with excitement. He was a gifted communicator, which served him well as a teacher, pastor, and trainer throughout his career. Not only could he portray ideas through word, but he had a beautiful talent in art and painting. If you ever were fortunate to have an original piece of his art work, the good news is, it just went up in value!

To know Mike was to know love and to be loved by him. He lived his life to share the love and Gospel of Jesus to as many as he could, either through words, actions, or generosity. If you ever met him and spoke with him, you came away a better person because he lifted you up, believed in you and made sure you knew there was a God who loved you. The lives he has touched over the years are too countless to name, and he did it all to lift up one name, Jesus.

Cremation is to take place and a Celebration of Life will be announced for a future date.

Pauline and the extended Windsor / Saunders Family.
So sad to hear of Mike’s passing. He was an all round good person, dedicated to whatever he was involved with. I have so many wonderful memories of him as Teacher / Preacher and oh yes—Political Candidate and indeed a great student of mine many decades ago at Elim Sunday School Class.
Please accept my sincere condolences and I pray you will find the way to a “new normal” without him as you reflect on so many great memories.
God Bless You ALL

Pauline, Jon-Michael and Carlye,
Remembering our family times together in our younger years; visits were always full of fun, so much laughter, and authenticity. Mike was easily one of the happiest people I’ve ever known and this echoed through your family. Each and every memory with you is light and was lifted in prayers.
My deepest condolences; I am so saddened for your loss.

Pauline and family, we are so saddened to hear of Mikes passing. Deepest condolences to the whole family. May he rest in peace.

Lee and I are so sorry and saddened to hear about Mike’s passing. We knew he had health challenges but the last time (a few months ago) we spoke to him he said things were under control and he was his cheerful and upbeat self! Mike was a very caring and selfless individual looking out for his family and friends! His wit and great storytelling was a treasure to us all! One minute he had us laughing and the next crying when preaching for ShareWord (Gideon’s) or just talking to a small group – his passion for Christ always shone through. Sending love and prayers to you, Pauline, Carley and Jon-Michael, and families. We will be praying for peace and comfort in the challenging days and weeks ahead!

I love you and I miss you, Uncle Mike.

Carlye,
Having worked with you as part of the Business Services and Document Control team over the past year and a half, I had no idea that I also knew your father from years before. I first met Mike in 2019, during that year’s federal election. We had many good conversations then, and periodically ran into each other since. As I recall, our most recent encounter was just a few months ago. In our conversations, it was evident that your father cherished his family and kept the faith. As I’m sure you and your family do, I take comfort in knowing Mike is resting easy in God’s embrace.

So sorry for your loss

To Pauline and Family..
SIncere condolences to you and your family.. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time time.

To Pauline, and those dearly loved by Mike.. Our paths crossed throughout our ministry years but, more recently, Mike and I had a few occasions to run into each other. These limited conversations quickly centered around the history of our faith, the love of family, and the struggles of life, but we always had a great chuckle in the end.. Mike was a positive, vibrant individual who always had an anecdotal story to add to the chat box. I am sure he will be dearly missed by all, and is now having a good yarn with those who had gone before him.. Sending you all my deepest condolences.

So many thoughts have gone through our minds since we heard the news of Mike’s passing. It was both you and Mike that helped us adjust when we moved to Alberta. The time when we were looking for a pastor to come to Banff in December so close to Christmas, to marry Craig & Jennifer. The dedications of our first two grandchildren in our home. What special times! Out get togethers, our parties our time of laughter. We remember the day you broke the news that you were moving to Fort Mac. We felt a hole in our lives. How many times when we would part Mike would say “See you later guys” . Now it is our turn, “ See you later Mike. We will see you again “.

Praying for each of you that you will find strength as you walk through this valley.

so sorry to read of Mike’s death. I taught with him at the College on Parade Street and still remember and often repeat some of his jokes! How nice to be remembered for the smiles you put on people’s faces.

Windsor family! Praying for you, that you will take comfort in the truth that Michael is with the Lord Jesus, whom he loved and served so faithfully.. Thanking the Lord for all the wonderful testimonies / memories he left for you, and those who knew and loved him. One day, maybe soon, we will be reunited for ALL Eternity! Until that Day dawns, the hand of the Lord remains upon you “for your good and His glory”. Love and prayers, Lily Batstone ❤️🙏🙌

Marion, Rosalie and all Mike’s Family: My sincere sympathy to you at this sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Pauline Winsor Murrin

My sincere condolences to you Pauline, and your family. Having known Mike from childhood at church and school to later years when we were colleagues in the oil industry, I can only remember him bringing a smile to my face. Even after some serious conversations, it always ended with a chuckle. The last place we worked, I remember how he always brightened the day of my team each time he dropped by to say hi to us. His Christianity always shining through. Love and hugs to you all.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. We met Mike at Memorial many years ago and have fond memories of our interactions with him and Pauline through the years. He was a gifted communicator and an exceptional conversationalist. Our sincere condolences to Pauline and family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Marion, Rosalie and Mike’s family,

Sincere condolences on the loss of your son/brother. Memories are precious. May they bring you comfort now.

Jill and I are so sorry to hear of Mike’s Home-going. I (Geoff) have so many memories of both deep, heartfelt conversations and also joking about—well, anything, really. He had this kind way of correcting my grammer. 🙂 I can’t tell you what we actually talked about the last time we were together, but what I do recall is us doubled over laughing.

Mike was a great man so full of love for his family, God and sincere kindness toward everyone he met.
Pauline, we bless you and your dear family, as you grieve, with God’s comfort and peace for your road ahead.

Mike, rest in peace now. You’ve finished well and left a beautiful legacy, my friend.

My heart goes out to Pauline and Mike’s family and to everyone who was fortunate enough to have him in their lives.

Reading this brought back so many thoughts about what made Mr. Windsor such a special person. And yes, he was always Mr. Windsor to me—at least until I became an adult… well, maybe well into my adult life! Somehow, that title just stuck because of my respect for him.

The words that really stay with me were that if you ever met Mike and spoke with him, you came away a better person. That is such a perfect way to describe him, because that’s exactly the kind of person he was. He had a way of making you feel seen, valued, encouraged, and loved. He believed in people, often when they needed someone to believe in them the most.

His humour and wit could light up a room, but beneath it was a genuinely kind and loving man with an incredible heart. His faith wasn’t something he simply talked about—it was something he lived.

I’m truly sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in knowing how deeply Mike was loved, how many lives he touched, and how much better he made the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Rest peacefully, Mr. Windsor. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Shannon Pilgrim

“Grief is like glitter. In the beginning, it’s everywhere, scattered across every corner of your life. It doesn’t go away completely. It settles, becomes quieter, and you learn to live a new life with it”.

Sitting here at home in Ireland and out of words with shock.
We got together 3 years ago in Newfoundland with the whole Square Penny celebrating on CBC radio interview and Mike and Pauline showed up for a sing song on the Sunday night.
He was incredibly funny as usual and the Joy of the Lord was their strength.
So incredibly sad to hear this, but we all know Heaven’s laughing as he enters into the pearly gates.
So sorry Pauline, John Michael. Ans Caryle and children.
On behalf of myself Tom and Slungy and Mike ( Square Penny)

May the Father of all mercies and the God of all comfort suouround you at this time.

Our deepest condolences to all the family. Sending lots of love and hugs.

I’m so shocked and saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. He was so full of life and good humor. Always with a joke or a story to make you smile. I especially loved his stories about the Vincents and all the funny anecdotes he’d share. Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of such a wonderful man. I’m sure he was warmly welcomed to heaven by Bobby. Praying that the memories of all the love and good times will carry you through the difficult days ahead.

We first met Mike and Pauline in Athabasca, AB
