Obituary
Rose passed away, having reached the age of 81, at Glenbrook Lodge in St. John’s where she had been residing since December 2025. Having previously lived at Alderwood Retirement Home in Witless Bay from Sept to Nov 2025. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of the Alderwood Retirement Home and Glenbrook Lodge for the kindness they always showed her. Special thanks to Rose’s roommate at Glenbrook Lodge, Roberta P., who was always looking out for Rose.
She is predeceased by her partner of 27 years, Howard Tucker (2001); her mother, Margaret Molloy (1997) and step father, Andrew Molloy (1984); her brother, Richard (2011); sister in law, Grace (2007); also her nephew Randy in May 1968, due to a tragic accident on Thorburn Road; also ‘Fur Baby’, Chloe (2020).
Leaving to mourn is her niece, Wanda Mercer (Roger Hussey).
Rose lived all her life in St. Philip’s and was an active and devoted member of St. Phillip’s Anglican Church until her mobility became an issue. Rose was a social butterfly, and loved gatherings, and made friends easily. She loved music, especially country, and would burst into song and loved to dance. She’s singing and dancing with the angels now.
As per Rose’s wishes, there will be no visitation, and cremation has taken place. A celebration of Rose’s life will take place at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday, May 9th at 2 PM with inurnment to follow at St. Philip’s Anglican Church Cemetery.
My sincere and deepest condolences to Rose’s family and friends. Rose, was a pleasure to come and see when I was called to drop by to do her hair service at her home in Portugal Cove. RIP Rose💐
