It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Bishop announces his passing at the age of 95 on May 1, 2025. Formally of Goulds, he passed peacefully at Chancellor Park.

He was predeceased by his parents Marion and Harold, brother George (Iris), his loving wife Inez and daughter Glenys.

Leaving to mourn are his daughters Jennifer (Don), Marina (Ed) and Cathy (Craig); his grandchildren, Miranda (Kirk), Jessica (Shawn), Kristen, Brandon, Rebecca (Justin), Zachary (Colette) and Jonas (Hillary); his great grandchildren, Ryker, Wesley, Kai, Piper and Troy; as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Special thanks to the staff at the Morgan, Chancellor Park, especially the staff of the 3rd floor. Your kindness, care and compassion never went unnoticed and will never be forgotten.

Dad loved to farm. Outdoors was his happy place. He also loved a good game of Spades and going for a drive (maybe to enjoy an ice-cream). He will be remembered for his great sense of humor!

Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday May 4th, 2 -4 & 7 -9 PM, and Monday May 5th, 2 -4 PM & 7 – 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Roy’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The funeral will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 202 Main Rd, Goulds, on Tuesday, May 6th at 11 AM.

We would like to pass along our deepest sympathy to Roy’s family . I have fond childhood memories of visiting the Goulds and we are thinking of you all at this sad time .

Mom, Howard and I offer our sincere condolences to Roy’s family during this time of loss. We have many happy memories of Roy that we will always treasure. His sense of humour was one of a kind.

Please accept my sincere condolences. I’m very sorry that I’m not able to join you to celebrate your Dad’s wonderful life, but please know I am thinking of you all. I have so many fond memories of family gatherings with the Bishops, especially Uncle Roy’s great sense of humour. Sending love to you all.

To Jennifer, Marina and Cathy and all your families. So sorry to hear of Roy’s passing. Georgina and I send our sincere condolences. We will miss him greatly as will all who knew him. He lived a full and contented life and brought a smile to so many. We are sorry we cannot be with you in person but you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

A true gentleman and extremely hard worker. I knew Mr. Bishop when I was a kid. Very friendly man. and a great friend of my Dad. My condolences to all his surviving family.

Sorry to hear of your Dads passing . I had the opportunity to get to know him well when staying at Marinas and Ed’ s years back. He was one of the best, always ready for a game of cards and grin on his face and a good meal. He always talked about his grandkids and he truly loved his farm.Rest In Peace my friend .

Our deepest condolences, many great memories of Roy growing up. Roy always had a joke or story to tell me, I remember him working the ground with his old John Deere he always had a big wave and smile. Many good memories especially helping out at hay time. Sorry for your loss at this sad time.

Marina, Cathy, Jennifer and families, please accept our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time! Your dad was quite the gentle soul! He always had a welcoming smile for all who visited his home. On my many visits to your family home throughout the years, I always thought of Roy as the gentle giant of a man with the quick whit! I always found myself,, upon leaving your house , with a tremendous smile on my face remembering something your dad had said during my visit! Such great memories! Take comfort in all the great memories!

To the Bishop family, so sorry to hear of Roy’s passing. He was always a good friend to my parents and their families. I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Roy. I will always have fond memories of visiting him on the farm when I was young. I know Andrew was glad to have met him when we visited and I know Anthem would have loved him. Much love to everyone in the family during this difficult time.
