Ruby Louise Parrott passed peacefully away in St. John’s at the Miller Centre in the presence of her niece Amanda and close friend, from a brief battle with cancer.
Ruby is predeceased by her Father James Parrott born in Trinity South of NL; Mother Mena Parrott (nee Tiller) born in Bonavista NL; Brother William ‘Bill’ Parrott; sister-in-law Wanda Parrott (nee Dancey); and Mike Butler.
Leaving to mourn her niece Amanda Parrott (Victor); granddaughter Penelope Parrott and nephew Andrew Parrott (Janalee); as well as Georgina Hamel, sister-in-law Carol Butler and extended family. Close and dearest friends Ruby and Dave Saulter, Marg Beckett, Frank and Cynthia Carter, Lorraine and Herb King, and Phil and Myrtle Sharpe.
Ruby had a great love for bingo, curling, cards, and Newfoundland music that she always enjoyed with her closest friends. She also loved to cook delicious meals to entertain, and her shortbread cookies and cherry cake were the best!
Special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Louise Rogers and the community health nurse, Elizabeth Murphy-Smith who were always there for us.
Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home located on 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday May 21st, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM to 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
The Funeral Service for Ruby will be held at Holy Innocent Anglican Church June 5th at 2pm, with a burial to follow at Holy Innocent’s Anglican Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations can be made to Holy Innocents Anglican Church or a charity of one’s choice.

Amanda & Andrew, We just discovered that your Aunt Ruby passed away a few days ago. We were certainly saddened by this news. We extend to you both, our deepest condolences at this sad time. Your Aunt Ruby , and all of your family, were the best neighbours anyone could have. Hold onto all of the good memories.
