Passed away suddenly at home in the arms of her daughter on Friday, November 25, 2022.  Ruth Stirling Pearce (nee Reid), in her 86th year.  Predeceased by her parents Cyril and Susan Reid, husband Derm, sisters Mary and Joan, sister-in-law Shirley Escott and brother-in-law Ronnie Pearce.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories her children Cyril Pearce, Shirlene Thorne and Marla Mooney (Craig) (Edmonton, AB); her special granddaughter Nicki Thorne (Dave), whom Mom made me promise daily that she would never forget and to her final day she never did; grandchildren Adam Pearce, Sarah Pearce (Oliver, BC), Luke Mooney, Sarah Mooney (Edmonton, AB); her dear friend Arlene (Masonic Park).  To Levi Thorne (Thornlea), Mom thought the world of you.  Also leaving to mourn, many other relatives and friends. 

Heartfelt thank you to nurse Donna from Rosemoore Homecare for your help and guidance these past few weeks. To the team of care workers from Rosemoore, your care of Mom was nothing short of amazing these past few months.

To Dr. Mercer and his team, thank you, you were there for me in my desperation.

To my Mom – you are finally free.  I love you!

Cremation has taken place.  The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 3 at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.

Flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of one’s choice.

Sincere sympathy to friends and relatives of Ruth Stirling Pearce ( nee Reid ) Ruth was daughter of Cyril Reid my father’s oldest brother. My father’s name was Henry Clarence Reid; the brothers always had great games of cards. Wonderful memories.

I have been in your moms company several times over the years on her many summer visits to Branch st Mary’s Bay when Marla Craig and Sarah and Luke visited
She was a beautiful soul

Our Dear Friend is now at rest myself and Randy have fond memories of her , enjoyable times and laughter over the years and knowing she had Shirlene there that she felt safe i am sure meant the world to her she will always be with the ones that loved her and there will be times things will come to mind that she would say to bring a smile to your face that’s what we hold om too celebrate her life our thoughts are with her family family at this time
