I offer my sincere condolences to Elaine’s family and close friends on her passing. I knew Elaine through my late husband Jim Dawe from the Computer Science Department at MUN. Although I haven’t seen Elaine in many years, we always kept in touch at Christmas time. I remember her fondly from that time and Jim always thought highly of her. I will think of her as time marches on. God bless and may she rest in peace.

I am so sorry to learn, just now, of Elaine’s passing back in July 2022. I knew Elaine from MUN. I met her when we all worked in various Departments in the old Temporary Buildings. I remember her friendly disposition and her kindness to my late brother-in-law, a professor in Computer Science, who had diabetes. I can still see her rushing past my office on her way to the Breezeway Cafeteria in the Chemistry Building to get him a juice because his blood sugar had dropped dangerously low. I didn’t know her well, but she was a person who was not easily forgotten. My sincere condolences to all her family and friends. Elaine, may you rest in peace, and may your memory be a blessing.

Our sincere condolences on your loss of this very special, beautiful person. Elaine’s big smile and laugh were matched by her big heart. We remember fondly times spent together, especially our many Wednesday evenings at Elaine’s in the late 70’s and 80’s when the ‘gang’ would gather and enjoy just spending time together. Her crafting skills were amazing and she happily shared her love of making beautiful things – she even had the patience to teach me how to knit!
