Obituary

Passed away suddenly but peacefully on August 6th, 2024, Shelley Leone Spurrell (nee Hobbs), age 70 years old.

Predeceased and reunited with her Angel Granddaughter Brittney Nicole; parents Cyril and Edith, sister Jocelyn; brothers-in-Law: Andy, John; sister-in Law Frances.

Left to mourn with broken hearts and fond memories her husband of 50 Years “Harry” Wilson; daughters Tammy, Tracey (Paul), Tara (Roger); son Wilson; grandchildren Christopher (Brenda), Samantha (Kerry), Tyler (Monique), Zack, Felicia (Nick), Jillian (Chris), Brandon (Briana) and Tenisha (and her Special Aunt Connie); great – grandchildren: Kyia, Sawyer, Kash, Leo, Beth, Theo, and Sally; sons-in-law Jeff and Billy; brothers: Randy and Ian (Harold); sisters Anna, Vivan (Robert), and Kim (James); sisters-in- law Lorna, Jean (Jim), Shirley (Max), Marg (Melvin), Joan (Lew), Linda (Percy); brother-in-law Gerry; special sister like friends Georgina (Ed) and Mary-Lou (Ches); numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends too numerous to list.

Shelley’s dedication to all that knew her was admirable. As an avid and amazing cook, baker, bread maker and person, nobody (not even a stranger), left Shelley’s Kitchen or home cold, tired or hungry. She often did without or would give anything, even the clothes off her back to someone in need! Her unconditional love, numerous food, and monetary donations to those in need was endless. Always there to put the needs of others first. She loved her family, friends, and life to the fullest.

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, August 10th.

Funeral service to take place on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Carnell Memorial Chapel.

Cremation to follow.

No Flowers by request. Donations can be made to those helping others at The Gathering Place, Salvation Army, or Red Cross in her memory.

 

Please note that Carnell’s is a nut free building, due to a staff member with a severe allergy. Thank you for you cooperation. 

 

 

Rest easy as the world was a better place with you in it and a much sadder place with you not.

Sorry to hear of Shelley’s passing, I was in her company several times over the years at Andy and Jocelyn’s house,,very nice lady, Sincere Condolences, May She Rest In Peace 🙏
