Born in Grand Falls, NL – passed away at Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, NL, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Sherri was kind and loving, generous and compassionate. She was especially attached to her fur-baby Tucker.  She enjoyed family get togethers, weekends at their campsite, associating with nearby campers, and relaxing in her hot tub. She loved to travel, Dominican being her favourite place to vacation.

She took great pride in her work to do the best at whatever she did and helping others where she could. She looked for ways to contribute even if it was just to make you smile or laugh. Her positive attitude was always apparent in her workplace even as she faced her own life challenges.

Left to mourn is the love of her life and soulmate Glenn, who never left her side every step of the way; daughter Carrie (Gus) and granddaughter Emma; father Ronald (Pamela) and mother Patricia (Len Costello – deceased); brothers Duane (Natasha) and Carl; aunts Dianne (Ron – deceased) and Evelyn (Kevin – deceased), Mary (Jim), Catherine (Ken), Brenda (Tim), and Sharon; uncles Gerard (Carol – deceased) and Edward; niece Tanaya, nephews Tyler, Dawson and Gage, and Great-Niece Haven; Brother -in- law Blaine (Clara); nephew Dylan; A large circle of cousins, friends and co-workers.

Special thanks to Dr Tompkins and his medical team at the Dr. H. Bliss Cancer Center and the nurses of 4 North A and 5 North A at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and attention.

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16th and from 10-12 noon Thursday April 17th.

I worked with Sherri and will remember her gentle, happy spirit forever. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

I am deeply heartbroken over this tragic loss. I went to high school with Sherri. I was also a student of her father’s and hung around the same social circles as Carl for a time. My memories of our younger years recall that Sherri was always good for a laugh. You’d never know what would come out of her but rest assured it would be funny. I still remember seeing her going around with Carrie in her arms—who I thought looked just like her. ❤️. Sherri was friendly and kind and when we connected again years later when she was working at a restaurant that I walked into, she rushed over for a chat to catch up. We had a lot to talk about and we did stay in touch for a while after that. I will remember her fondly and my thoughts and prayers are with her family and all who loved her. God speed old friend.
