My thoughts are with you all. Shirley and her sister May were well known to us Laing children many years ago. Our Great grandfather was Eli Dawe, one of “the Dawes”, and the large family so important to my parents, Allen and Mary Fraser Laing. She will always be missed. Patsy Laing Best.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. We knew her as Aunt Shirl and were so fortunate to have spent time with her at many family gatherings at the Pike family home and other extended family events. She was such a special person. We will always remember her kindness, humility and friendliness. She had that special gift to make everyone feel at ease in her company. Keeping you all in our thoughts at this difficult time.

We were so saddened to hear about Shirleys passing. Karen, Pam and families, we are so sorry to hear this news, even though it was to be expected but it still doesn’t make it easier. I have loving memories growing up spending so much time at your house and having summer vacations in at “The Farm.”

Your mother was like a second mother to me and she treated me the same as she treated you and Dave. I especially loved Christmas time at your house because she always had it decorated so beautiful! And I especially remember in the living room with the fireplace lit and the gorgeous Christmas tree, and us playing the game “Clue.” We will always have the memories!
Love Olive and Dave

Karen, Pam, Melissa, Andrea and families,
