To the White family…
Profoundly saddened to learn of Shirley’s passing!
I have many cherished memories of happier times in Lionism together with hubbies, Frank and Gerald.

To Shirley’s Family
My condolences to you all. I got to know Shirley after her marriage to Gerry and many visits thereafter, We enjoyed our chats about Florida, the country , golf and VOWR. l have so many fond memories of Mrs. Harding (as I knew her as when I was younger). My parents were great friends of her and Frank and we visited them on Ennis Avenue many times. I saw her fairly often over the years and was so happy for her when she met Mr. White. They were very happy together. May you rest in peace Mrs. H reunited with many loved ones and family! God speed!

may cherished memories and comfort of family and the sympathy of friends help to console you in this time of sorrow. I worked with Shirley for many years at dfo, and we enjoyed golfing together, and skating. god bless.

I find it difficult to express the sadness I feel hearing this news. To contrast, I keep thinking of the day my Poppy called and announced he married the most lovely woman Shirley (or has we called her Posie). I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard him as happy as I did on that phone call. Posie was the only grandmother I ever really knew on my father’s side. Given distance and my young age I regret not staying in closer contact with her. She was a role model in her community, a warmth within our family and a great grandmother to my son. I wish we could be there to wish her well as she reunites with her late husband. With lots of love,
Marleigh, Brent and Oliver

Gerry so sorry for your loss at this time, thought’s and prayers are with you.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Shirley’s (Posies) passing. She was such a lovely person who deeply loved my ex father inlaw Gerry White. She was so kind to my children and myself. I loved when she came and stayed with me for my daughters engagement party and again for her wedding. To me she was part of my family and the only grandmother my children knew on the White side. After the birth of her step grandson she really wanted to come and visit him but her health was starting to fail. She did get to see him in pictures and for that I am grateful. I wasn’t able to keep in touch with her much over the past two years but will miss our conversations over the phone and on facetime, nonetheless. God bless you Shirley thank you for being a part of my life!

We are sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. She was a member of our gospel choir and loved singing. Sometimes we would pick her up. We extend our sympathy to all her family and friends.

Shared a golf cart with Shirley two years ago on Captain’s Hill in the Ladies League.
Shirley had a great swing, was a lot of fun and was a pleasure to spend time with. Shared her candy with me.
To Shirley’s family, my condolences.

To Shirley’s Family

It is with a saddened heart that I learned of Shirley’s passing on Saturday at church. She was a very gentle, quiet person who was always there ready to help at the drop of a hat. We will truly miss her at St. Mark’s Family.
