It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stan Branton of Happy Adventure announces his passing on October 26, 2024 at the health science, St. John’s. Stan was born in Thornlea, Trinity Bay on March 14, 1939.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Emma Branton, sisters Lydia (Jim) Walsh, Betty (Bob) Barnes, brothers Howard, Wayne (Rosalind). In-laws Robert and Jane Powell, brother-in-law, Hubert (Nita) Powell and daughter-in-law, Sandra Branton.
Left to mourn with loving memories his devoted wife of 58 years Sadie. Sons Robert, Roger (Lori), Warren (Kim), daughter Coralee (Paul) Gosse. Daughter-in-law Janice Barnes, and special niece Jamie (Keith) Reid. Grandchildren Angie, Jessie (Jake), Matthew (Sunehra), Mark (Cassandra), Nicholas (Katia), Kristen (Josh), Noah (Johnna), Leia (Austin) and Michael. Great grandchildren Ava, AJ, Violet, Aria and Emelia. Also left to mourn sister-in-laws Linda Newhook, Gwen (Ralph) Squire, brother-in-law’s Bronse (Judy) Powell, Barry (Harriet) Powell and sister-in law Fannie Branton and a large circle of family and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Morkar, staff in emerge and 4 south A for the care and compassion while Stan was in their care.
Stan spent much of his adult life in Norman’s Cove and eventually resided in Happy Adventure. He dearly loved the outdoors, whether on the water, in the woods hunting, cutting wood, berry picking or trouting. He was so very proud of each of his children and grandchildren and always looked forward to family and friends coming to visit.
Cremation has already taken place at his request.
Visitation will be held at the Good Sheppard Church in Happy Adventure on Wednesday, October 30th between 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at the Good Sheppard Church on October 31st at 2 pm with an interment to follow.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Good Sheppard church in Happy Adventure.

My parents (Harry and Thelma Clarke) thought so highly of Stan and I know they were there to greet him on the other side. So sorry to hear this.. when I was a young girl Stanley and family was our next door neighbors.. Many times he brought us all to school when the weather wasn’t good..A very nice man..So sorry
