Stewart William King

February 10, 1964 to May 6, 2024

Obituary

Passed away peacefully at home in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s, surrounded by his family.

Forever missed by his wife of 35 years, Daphne (Green); daughter Sophia; son Spencer, and daughter-in-law Holly.

Predeceased by his parents Violet (Squires) and Bill King. Survived by his sister Nancy Cabianca, and her husband Antonio.

Stewart was a proud 7th generation farmer, working and living his whole life in PCSP. He was not only known for his strong work ethic, but for his sense of humour and infectious laugh. He always said he never went to work a day in his life.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Nathan Dennis, who gave him 8 extra years of life.

“Leave your organs on Earth, heaven don’t need them.”

Grateful thanks to the many nurses, doctors and surgeons who took care of Stewart from Halifax to St. John’s, especially at the end. There are simply too many to mention.

“You truly do God’s work on Earth.”

As per Stewart’s request, cremation has taken place, with no service.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance…”

– Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

So very sorry for your loss. Had many many great laugh’s over the years with Stewart. He was a great person. We all respected him in the Agriculture world. Thinking of the entire family.

I knew stewart when we were just kids. Nancy was one of my best friends, and Stewart did his best to stay out of our way when we argued over Monopoly! He was the strong silent, yet lovely presence of my childhood. I hope each day lessens your grief and sharpens your beautiful memories. So very sorry for your loss.

Sending our deepest condolences to Daphne, Sophie, and Spencer for the loss of Stu.
