It’s always sad when a childhood friend and neighbour passes. It’s been years, many, since I last saw Sylvia, but I’ve never forgotten her. We lost track, and it’s good to see that despite its brevity her life was a good one – an important career and a family. My condolences to her family – her N&L family and those of the family who she grew up with. Her Mother was a gem and her Dad was, according to mine (a doc), considered a brilliant mentor to the other pharmacists practicing here. Goodbye, Sylvia.

Sincere sympathy to Sylvia’s family. Your beautiful Mom was a caring nurse to both my Mom and Aunt at Glenbrook lodge. our paths crossed again at bally hally ladies bridge. your good memories will help you at this sad time

Dear Wilson & family,

Sylvia and i were friends ..from grade 7 to 12 ..she was one of a kind….i can still see her running at top speed ..down north river road ..late as always.. to catch a ride with my dad.. we would pick her up on bungalow place..heather and i would talk dad into going around the block from park terrace..sometimes she was more than 2 blocks away …dad would say …every day ..the next time ..we leave without you…we never did..she would flash that smile …all was forgiven ..then to dads office.& the walk to PWC..grade 11 & 12… some of my best memories ..fun dances @the Y….
Sylvia was always a shining light..
Full of fun….never a dull moment..
I will miss her..she is the first ..to go…of those grade 7 girls that befrended me..a gawky country girl..that happened…to move to town …all those years ago..Sylvia was special

As neighbors we visited many times, in our gardens or just sitting on our front step having a chat. It’s been a long and difficult 6 years but she never gave up or gave in to it, she was a truly a strong woman.
