We were so saddened to hear of Vince’s passing. He made every one of our trips to Newfoundland very special, taking us out to Bird Island and showing us the puffins and whales and extending his special warmth and generosity of spirit. We loved his quick smile, the mischievous twinkle in his eye and funny stories. He welcomed us as family and we will miss him deeply and remember him with much love.
Deepest sympathy to the whole family.

Condolences to all the family!

I met Vince through my work with Carpenter Millwright College. He is someone that would stop by from time to time since I have been working with the College and ask if there is anything he could do to help our students. He recently brought chocolates to the staff to put a smile on our faces. I am sure your family has heard many wonderful stories like these but thought I would pass along some of the lasting impressions he has made with me. A wonderful smile and a kind soul. How lucky we were to have met someone so giving with his time and with such grace.
My sincere condolences to you and your family.

Vince will forever hold a place in my heart. I began working alongside my father at CMC a few years back and have no taken the role on myself. Vince would always make it a point to stop and ask how everything was going, he always took time to just have a quick chat. We played in a small softball game this past summer with the honour of it being named after Vince. I will dearly miss seeing him pop into the college and especially seeing that smile. To the family so sorry to hear Vince s passing . Keep your memories as you go on in life .

I first met Vince in 2008 through the RCIA program. He was very welcoming and kind. He quickly volunteered to be my sponsor/godfather and was a great source of support to me (and my young family) as well as the other three individuals joining the RC faith at that time.

He always had a smile on his face and a real determination to make life around him and in the community better. This was seen through his work on Council as well as with the local food bank.

We will miss seeing Vince around town and at mass and having a chat; he always made time to reconnect.

Pat and family, we are thinking of you all during this difficult time. Even though we never met any of Vince’s family, except for Pat, he shared so much of himself and his love for his family, that, in a sense, we felt we knew you all as well. He spoke very proudly of his family.

I hope these words bring you all some comfort.

Pat, VJ, Michelle and family,

Len and I are truly saddened to hear of Vince’s passing. He was part of our community and church family and will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him through the years. He was always in our prayers and we extend our sincere condolences to the Burton & Farrell families. God Bless. Rest in Peace Vince.

Vince will always hold a special place in my heart. We were both elected to council for the first time together in 2009. He fought and lobbied hard for the arena and fire station. His determination and work ethic as a community leader was to be admired. I will remember him as a man that was true to his word. He had no back doors, always upfront and honest.

He truly was the kindest soul who always put others before himself. Given everything he was going through himself, he still found time to reach out to me 2 weeks ago while he was on his moose hunting trip to check in and see how I was doing. His last words to me “ok my ducky you be good”.

Pat, Michelle, VJ and family, our deepest condolences on this most incredible loss.

Love Elizabeth, Harold and Girls

Pat, Vince J, and Michelle my heart and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of a wonderful husband and father. To say that Vince was a Pillar of the Community would be an understatement, he loved his family first but his community was also a very important part of his life. He will be sadly missed. His work is done and now he will rest in the arms of Jesus. Pat, I’m sending all my love to you and your beautiful family.
