Obituary

Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion on August 13, 2021, Wallace R. Gibson, aged 76.  Wallace was born on June 1, 1945 in Little Rock, Arkansas and had a fulfilling life.  He served in the U.S. Army Paratroopers and as a Sergeant in the U.S. Corps fighting in Vietnam, was awarded a Purple Heart for Bravery.  He immigrated to Canada on September 23, 1970 and had a successful career as a Pharmacist in Stephenville, Labrador and Carbonear.

Wallace was a very kind man who enjoyed a good game of poker and playing video games.  He was pre-deceased by his wonderful partner, Frances Dollimont in June 2015.

Wallace leaves to mourn his step-granddaughter Desiree  Dollimont  and her mother Renee Whittle, as well as a number of close friends including Fred Williams, Anna Penney, Karen Butt, Sandy Stavlo, Roger Baggs, Ron Franey, Robert Murphy and David Penney.

To the staff at the Veterans Pavilion we wish to offer a sincere thank you for the wonderful care provided to Wallace over the past four months.

In accordance to his wishes cremation has taken place.

May he rest in peace.

To those who loved Wallace, my sincere condolences. It was my pleasure to get to know him over his last months at the Pavilion. He was a compassionate and thoughtful man, and he has been missed by the Jeopardy group and the staff.
