Obituary

Passed peacefully away at Pleasantview Towers after a lengthy illness, Walter Codner, at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by his parents, John and Fannie Codner; brothers, Harvey, Charlie, and Nathaniel; sister, Jennie. Left to mourn his beloved wife Joan of 62 years; sons: Wallace (Lena), Gary, Allen; daughter Sharon Codner-Putt (Darryl); grandson, Justin; granddaughter, Tina Careen (Tony Stacey); great grandchildren: Emily (mother Leslie), Matthew and Regan Stacey; brother, Al; sister, Ethel; brother-in-law, Hayward Miller (Laverne); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday, July 31st and Tuesday, August 1st from 10 – 12 noon, 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 – 1 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove/St. Philip’s. Interment to follow in St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Extension. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or St. Lawrence Anglican Church.
