Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, grandmother, sister and friend to so many, Wanda Heffernan (Hammond).
She is predeceased by her Mother Mary (Fry), Father George, brother David, sister-in-law Marion, brother-in-law Kevin, and nephew Carter Christopher Hann. She leaves to mourn her daughter Rebecca Hughes (Bryan) and her precious grandchildren Emily, Olivia and Dani, whom she adored. Also left to mourn are her partner, Sid Reid, sisters Sandra Keough (Tom), Gloria Hibbs (Carnell), Trudy Mitchell (Kevin, deceased), Norine Tucker (Wayne), Angela Butler (Don), Brother Michael Hammond (Marlene), sister-in-law Michelle Mitchell, and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention individually.
Special thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff of 4 South B and ICU, at the Health Sciences Center.
Fly high with the angels my darling. We hope that you are up there dancing up a storm in heaven with all those who went before you, we will love and miss you forever.
Cremation has taken place. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Lawrence Anglican Church on Sunday, August 30th at 2 pm. Inurnment to follow the service at St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Extension.
Donations in Wanda’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.

To My Family,
I’m heartbroken over Aunt Wanda’s passing. We had some wonderful times when we both lived in Calgary. Lots of Jiggs Dinners, New Year’s Eve parties, water fights on birthdays, the “you should give me that” and the list goes on. We will treasure every single memory.
I’m grateful that her pain is no more and she can finally rest in peace.
Sorry we can’t be there in person but know we are thinking of you all.

I am so shocked to hear this sad news. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you all during this very sad time.
Wanda and I were close back in the day when I was in the Hammond Family. I have wonderful memories of her and there was always fun times whenever she was around. She was an adorable person and everyone Loved her. She had a Heart of Gold.
We kept in touch somewhat over the years and she would always talk about her daughter and granddaughters and tell me how much she Loved them and how she wished she was living nearer to them. They were her world.
There are no Right words to say to ease your grief at this time. May all your special memories of Wanda
help to bring you comfort in the days ahead.
You were always such a very close Loving Family and I know Wanda will be missed by you all. She will remain in your hearts forever.
