William David Miller

Greeted by his parents William and Elizabeth, along with his sister Cheryl, on November 28th, 2025, William ‘Bill’ David Miller, entered eternal rest in the presence of his loving son, David and Nephew, Greg by his side. 

He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted son David and his daughter-in-law Robyn, grand fur babies Benz and Audi.  Sisters Brenda (Norm) Rogers and Pam (Ed) Clancey.  Nieces Norma (Greg) Moss, Kimberly Rogers (Dennis Tucker), Sherrie Rogers (Alexander Targett), Nicole (Andrew) Ash.  Great Nieces & Nephews Gavin, Sammy, Cody, Caylee, Lilly, Anna. And Great Great Niece & Nephew Lilah and Noah. 

He also leaves to mourn his nephew, Gregory (Joanne) Rogers. Gregory was more than just a nephew; he was a second son to Bill. Just like his son David, Gregory held a special place in Bill’s heart. Over the past couple of weeks, Bill and David spent many hours reminiscing of the memories they both shared with Gregory.  As an only child, David always looked up to Gregory as an older brother, trusting him to guide the way.  Many smiles, laughs and tears were shared between Father and Son as they spoke about these fond and treasured memories.

Bill had many friends over the years all of whom the spoke of often sharing a memory or something funny that stuck out in his mind. His love for fast cars when he was a young man will always be remembered by those who knew him well, and the love he had of his Javelin, before he settled down and traded in the fast cars for diapers, and a station wagon. 

He was a proud Dad, Uncle, Great Uncle, and Great Great Uncle, who cheered from the sidelines at many sporting events.  His son David will always hold close the memories of when he and his dad would play in the Father/Son Bowling matches growing up, and many times looking over to see his dad watching him play Eastern Darts, being so proud when hitting the finishes.

Bill was a hard worker, well-educated and crafted in his trade of carpentry, sharp wit and extremely proud of being able to help as needed whenever anyone needed a hand around the house or garage.  With fond memories he often spoke about fixing up houses, and helping build sheds for others, Bill will always be remembered for his kindness of being there for others when they needed a hand. 

Bill enjoyed a long life of carpentry with the NL English School District and officially retired and hung up the tool belt in 2018.

He also leaves a legacy, his morning ritual with his buddies at Tim Horton’s, which he enjoyed immensely.  As a true father, who was so proud of his son, he would sometimes allow David to tag along to let them see what strong man he had become. 

Special thanks to all who helped care for Bill over the years.  Your kindness, professionalism and respect is greatly appreciated. A Special thank you to the team on 4 South A, Health Science Centre and the team at the Dr LA Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit. Thank you for your compassion and care of Bill in his final weeks with us. 

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Carnell’s Funeral Home, Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, from 7pm to 9pm and Thursday, December 4th, 2025, from 12pm to 4pm. 

Service to take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home on Friday, December 5th at 11am. Private burial service to follow for family.
