William J. Taylor
August 12, 1934 – August 10, 2024
Superintendent Ret’d; Royal Newfoundland Constabulary

Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Lucinda Leaman-Taylor; parents Fred & Edith Taylor; his parents-in-law Cyril & Greta Leaman; Brothers in law Cyril Jr. & Fred Leaman. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories daughters Janet (Robert) and Jennifer; grandchildren William, Taylor, Callie (Jon), Jesse; great-grandchild Jaxon; siblings Fred (Joan), Russell (Judy), Judith (Ed); siblings-in-law Marie, Arthur, Glad (George), & Kay (Bill); as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a “thank- you” to Dr. Ashley Power & the nursing staff at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Cremation to be taken place, burial to follow at Kenmount Road Anglican Cemetery on Wednesday, August 14 at 2pm.

Sending sincere condolences, Mr & Mrs Taylor were acquaintances I met through work. They were both beautiful people so happy to known them even if it was only a short time. I have a chestnut tree that he gave me many years ago, I have often thought of them over the years

Condolences to all family and friends of Bill(special mention his (RNC family)-A good number of years ago i got a call from bill-saying -(JIM THR REAL ESTATE GUY)- Jim ‘its time i bought a home” would like west end prefer off Lemarchant Rd. West-Well low and behold a day or so later i rec’d a listing on ST. Michaels Ave–Bill & wife ware the first to view-,after viewing,-We had a chat in my car; for a bit of info–Bill wanted–He then says Jim–Write it up now-This is the area i want- write it up, Very quiet near school etc,They moved in about 30 days later; remained there until after his retirement;Then moved to Paradise area-WE met on and off over the years-Always a great fellow-OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS-GOD BLESS–JIM-(RCAF Ret’D/.Wife Nelia Campbell ST. JOHN’S NFLD.

Janet and Jennifer I am saddened to hear of your Dad’s passing. Not only did I work with him early in my career with the RNC, I continued to enjoy his friendship and advise to my retirement in 2013. . He loved you dearly and would light up at every opportunity to bring me up to date on the family. I send my deepest condolences on the loss of a special man.

Judy and I have so many great memories from St. John’s,Truro and Florida. Bill and Lucy visited many times when the kids were small and later alone. I’m sure he’s happy reunited with the love of his life Lucy.
