With much sadness, the family of Winnie Daniels announce her peaceful passing at the age of 88 at Pleasantview Towers on June 12, 2025.
Predeceased by her husband Gordon; parents William and Caroline Howell; daughter, Janet King; Sisters, Elizabeth Dawe (Ron), Dorothy Churchill (Zach), Ada Fifield (Howard) and Kathleen Boland (Harry); Brothers, Calvin (Beryl) and Ray (Sadie); Father and Mother-in-law, Walter and Dorothy Daniels; Sisters-in-law Doris Field (Hubert) and Brother-in-law Wally Daniels.
Left with many wonderful memories are her family. Children: Wanda (Wayne Nicholl), Derrick (Shirley Parsons), Dawna (Scott Ferguson), Gordon (Kim Williams), Linda and Son-in-law Dave King (Trudy). Grandchildren: Adam (Megan), Kari (Kirk), Jillian (Shane), Evan (Stacey), Jesse, Shannon (Matt), Felicia, Matthew, Mark, Derrick Jr., Amanda, John, Christopher and Ryan (Sheena). Great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Benjamin, Reeve, Nicholas, Hartlen, Cohen, Aubrey, Bridget and Owen. Winnie is also survived by her loving sister Bonita (Ernest Taylor), brothers John (Donna) and Lloyd (Edith), sisters-in-law Florence Perry and Barbara Daniels and special niece Pearl Fifield. Many other nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.
As a teen, Mom left her hometown of Wesleyville to live with her sister Betty in St. John’s. It was there, arguing over a bottle of coke, she met the love of her life, Gordon. Together they raised 6 children. When her family fled the nest, she returned to the workforce securing a position at Exon House, caring for special needs children. When Exon House closed, her position moved to the School for the Deaf, until she retired.
Mom was an experienced knitter, sewer and crafter. From knitting sweaters, embroidering Grenfell coats, to making Christmas Reindeer out of wooden spoons, she loved creating them all. Mom also enjoyed her music, Charlie Pride, Daniel O’Donnell, Evis Presley and Johnny Cash. Mom made the best date squares and could feed the kids (and all their pals) on the smallest budget! She loved a good game of Growl, Scrabble and Rumoli.
A Special thank-you is extended to the staff of Pleasantview Towers, units 2SW, 2NW and 2SE, for the care and kindness show to Mom over the last 8 ½ years.

I’m so sorry to hear of Aunt Winnie’s passing. My heartfelt condolences to all her family and loved ones. May she rest in peace.
To: Wanda, Derrick, Dawna, Gordon, Linda, and Janet (in Heaven). We send you our condolences on the passing of your Mother. Winnie was a good friend of our Mother, Lorraine Warren, for over 40 yrs. She – and we – appreciated Winnie’s kindness over those many years. If our Mother was here today she would thank Winnie for her friendship, her generosity and her support. We do that on her behalf. From Lorraine, and from us, we say Rest in Peace Winnie; you have earned your place in Heaven.
