Passed suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on July 15, 2022 at the age of 26.
Predeceased by his grandmother Kay Newhook and uncle Eddy Newhook.
Left with loving memories but broken hearts his parents Steve Randell and Cathy Newhook, grandparents Pastor Ivan and Gertie Randell, grandfather Albert Newhook (Shirley Power), aunts Debbie Butler (Keith), Bev MacNeil (Dave), Valerie Mayo (David); uncle Tony Newhook (Roxanne Learning); aunts Karen Randell (Kevin), Holly Fudge (Darren); uncles Craig Randell (Bev), Corey Randell (Chanda), Sheldon Randell (Nancy); cousins Keith Butler, Tom Wheeler, Krystle Butler, Matthew Newhook, Ashley Newhook, Julianne Mews, Melanie Butler, Jessica Brown, Sarah Brown, Jasmine Earle, Chelsea Randell, Samantha Randell, Joshua Randell, Daniel Randell, Raeanne Abbott, Jacob Randell, Andrew Randell, Rachel Randell.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, July 21 from 10am-2pm. Funeral service will follow at 2pm from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.

Never could imagine this to happen never forgotten
Sending my deepest condolences to Zach’s family. I am shocked and heart broken to hear this news.
Growing up- especially junior high days- I spent countless hours with Zach. And if I wasn’t with zach I spent every hour on the phone talking to Zach. I spent numerous nights up until 3,4 or 5 in the morning talking to him each and every night in the summer and it would be about nothing. Just laughing and enjoying each others company. I don’t have many memories from junior high that don’t involve him. He truly was my best friend and I thought the world of him. He was a teddy bear- so kind and genuine in nature. He was a friend that would do anything for anyone. I thought so much of him.
We drifted after school and I often thought about Zach and how he was doing. Today I am heart broken to hear this news.
Zach, where ever you may be I hope you are at peace. I hope you know the impact you made on a lot of peoples lives – even all these years later. You were a special person and will always hold a special place in my heart.

I was close with Zac… We hung out and had some good times together. He helped me through some tough times and I really wish I could have helped him. I miss you, Pudgey. You will be greatly missed and ALWAYS remembered.. fly high, my brother.. RIP

I have so many great childhood memories of Zach, from playing spotlight on Maple Street and reenacting the moves from WWE to trying to start a skateboarding brand. He never failed to put a smile on my face.

I am thinking of both of you and sending my condolences from Alberta. If I could have been there today I would, I was still watching from a distance. Zack was incredibly lucky to have such strong parents in his life.
I spent countless nights growing up at both of your houses spending way too many hours playing video games and sharing laughs with Zack. Who’s kindness, laugh and smile made him such an easy person to talk to and I was lucky to call him one of my best friends for a long time. I’m happy I knew Zack and I have so many great memories to remember him by.
I’m thinking of both of your entire families at this time. I’m also thinking of Zack and forever remembering his kind nature and how he positively impacted the ones he loved and cared for.

This is Ryan Warren’s Mother. I am so sorry for your loss, I cannot even imagine the pain you must be feeling. I am truly heartbroken since I have heard of Zack’s passing. I will always remember him as the sweet little boy who used to stay over at the house with the biggest grin & the sweetest laugh. He was always a pleasure to have over, he was always well behaved and was one of Ryan’s closest friends through out their school years. My heart is broken for you. I wish I had something to say or could do to help. I hope you have some warm memories to keep you going. Here’s one of mine: When Zack was 4, Cathy and I took him to an outdoor festival. On the way back he wanted MacDonalds. He was tired and instead of swing “Can I have some McDonald’s” he kept saying “ Can I have McSomeDonald’s”. We had a good chuckle. So to this day I still say “McSomeDonald’s”. Thanks for the chuckle Zachary!♥️
