Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Pre-deceased by her parents Frank and Helen Whiteway and brother-in-law Jack Connell.  Leaving to mourn with loving memories, her sons Tony Peckham (Cheri) and Kenneth Peckham (Kim); her grandchildren which were her pride and joy, Brendan (Samantha), Nathan (Luke) and Leah.  Also mourning her loss sister Patricia Connell, brother Bill and sister-in-law Barbara Whiteway, many nieces and nephews as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. She will also be missed by her many friends she encountered over the years and especially her friend Tess Kennedy with whom she spent many hours volunteering at HSC, shopping, and travelling together.

Although Elaine had a number of heath struggles in her life dealing with MS she was one of the strongest and determined people we know, and she will be
dearly missed by everyone who knew her.  Special thank you to the Nurses and Staff of Chancellor Park who took incredible care of her with the utmost
dignity and respect for the last 12 years and especially into her final days, we sincerely thank you for everything.

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, April 21 and Friday, April 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. with interment to follow in Kenmount Road Anglican Cemetery.  The funeral service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend, with the link available above.

Flowers greatly accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

I was so saddened to hear off Elaine’s passing she was one strong and determined lady, I would visit her often during my first days of ms she was blunt with me and told me don’t you ever give up . I often think of her , my thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time I can assure you she didn’t go down without a fight God Bless 💔

We met Elaine only recently at Chancellor Park when our Mom became Elaine’s roommate. Our condolences to Elaine’s family from Shirley Ryan and family. Rest In Peace Elaine.
