It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of David Whitten, age 79, at the Health Sciences Centre. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Gwendolyn Whitten, mother and father-in-law Edna and Fred Roberts, and sister-in-law Joyce. Left with a lifetime of loving memories his wife of 51 years, Melva; children Rick (Kim), Doug (Janet), Debbie (Todd), Paul (Michelle); grandchildren Harrison, Angela (Emily), Tyler (Amber), Nicole, Stephanie (Jeremy), Brandon (Jody), Maggie, and Sara; great-grandchildren Luke, Alexander, and Andrew; brothers Douglas (Florence), and Reg, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. After a 50+ year career in construction, Dave spent his time enjoying a game of growl and family time at the cabin. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff at the Kidney Dialysis Unit, with special thanks to Dr. Barrett. Also special thanks to Dr. Eric Smith and the Emergency Room staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassion. Cremation has taken place.
