Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on May 6, 2018, Gerald Sidney Strickland, aged 79 years.
Leaving to mourn wife Bertha of 52 years; son Gerald Blaine; sisters Marjorie King, Cora Kendell; sisters in-law Doris Strickland, Joan Legge (Eric), Donna Harris (Wesley), brother in-law Doug Kendell (Ena); and nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents John and Hannah Strickland; brothers Hubert (Margaret) Chesley (Jessie); sister Myrtle Coombs (Charles).
Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, May 9 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 10 at 11 a.m.
Flowers gratefully accepted or memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.

Gerald was the first person I met on the first day I began work with Hydro (then Nfld Power Commission) and he guided me professionally through my initial training. Rest in Peace my friend.
